Candy Raver Testing V.6
May 4th, 2000: Experiment # 6:
Let the madness in the music get to you
Thanks to a vat of Neosporin and lots of the Raver-Cure-All (5-htp & orange juice) PLUR Fairey healed up after the operation in no time.
Lack of social contact has been known to trigger insanity in many people. Seeing as I need PLUR Fairey to be healthy, both physically and mentally, for future experiments, I decided to invite some of PLUR Fairey's closest friends over for this experiment. This also allows for me to have more subjects to experiment upon, but I only have the funds to support one subject for a prolonged period of time, so after this experiment, all but PLUR Fairey will be released.
I mail out flyers to PLUR Fairey's friends inviting them to a house party in honor of PLUR Fairey's sacrifices for the rave science community. To make it look a bit more legit, I tell them it's featuring all locals, BUT entry is free with 2 canned goods.
Day 1:
The night of the 'party', all of his friends show up half an hour early: Scrunchy, Other Fairey, Binkie, Twinkie, Stinky, Random Bear, Josef, Princess Whoever, Vix, Raven (the one and only), K-Roll, Leap Frog, Sheep Dog, and Frank. As expected, they all have 2 cans of...beans.
I let them all in PLUR Fairey's cell and they instantly start jumping about and screaming for joy approximately 3 octaves higher than a dog whistle, giving each other "mad hugz" and exchanging bracelets by the gross as I lock the door. PLUR Fairey's face is a bit purple from being hugged so hard and so frequently. After about half an hour of them hugging, rubbing hands, and blowing Vicks, I let the first of my DJ friends, Paul Brokenmold, start spinning.
Paul Brokenmold, a.k.a. Broakie, lays down anthem after anthem, pleasing the Candy Ravers immensely. All of them kneeling and worshiping everything Broakie does. After about an hour of these pastel party kids enjoying the music to the fullest, I invite my sadistic DJ friend, Killy Bimble, to begin the experiment.
As DJ Bimble changes over from the peak of a 1-hour progressive trance set to some of the deepest, darkest Jungle, the small group of Candy Ravers gasps suddenly and stops dancing. If the band 'Cannibal Corpse' played Drum and Bass, this would be it. Never before have had I heard tunes this dark. PLUR Fairey and all his friends instantly start walking around, instinctively, looking for another room and complaining about the heat.
K-Roll, Stinky, and Sheep Dog all appear to be enjoying the music and even dancing a bit, proving that 1 out of 5 Candy Ravers enjoy Jungle music! The other 12 Candy Ravers, however, don't seem to be enjoying themselves at all...still searching frantically for a chill room, house room, court room, bathroom, torture chamber (wait a second, they're already in one), or any room without Jungle.
After about 6-hours of Jungle music, K-Roll, Stinky, and Sheep Dog have thrown away all of their plastic jewelry, candy, and have somehow managed to alter the home-made cartoon pajamas they were wearing into UFO's, wife-beaters, and visors. I've also noticed they don't talk to the Candy Ravers any longer and they tend to sneer whenever one of the Candy Ravers talks to them, or says "PLUR". I think I even saw Sheep Dog punch Twinkie in the face after Twinkie cracked a Glowstick.
The 12 true Candy Ravers have now formed a small cuddle puddle in one corner of the room and seem to be drawing some sort of map on their flyers with crayons. Things seem to have calmed down a bit, so Killy Bimble starts a lengthy track and we take a ride to our neighborhood Micky D's for a few burgers.
Upon returning we see that 5 of the true Candy Ravers are missing. The 3 new-found 'Junglists' are doing their best to stand in a circle (kind of hard to do with just 3 people), as this seems to be the natural state of an upright Junglist.
Day 2:
Returning to observation room the next morning I found a truly shocking situation. There are only 4 1/2 of the true Candy Ravers left in the room. Apparently the new-found Junglists have been smoking immense amounts of some type of herb and have gotten what is called "The munchies" and have decided to eat the other Candy Ravers.
PLUR Fairey, Other Fairey, Princess Whoever, and Frank are the only ones left alive and the Junglists appear to be eating the mid-section of Vix. Sheep Dog apparently really enjoys the bones. The 4 living Candy Ravers are unconscious and have been placed around the circle that the Junglists have formed. Now it actually looks like a circle!
Once the Junglists finished consuming Vix they start taking turns spinning and flipping about in the blood, urine, and other body fluid left over from the Candy Ravers they consumed in the center of the circle until they finish falling to the ground. After each Junglist finishes falling in the center of the circle, they stand up, walk over to an unconscious Candy Raver (usually Princess Whoever) and kick them in the stomach. The interesting part about this was that the Candy Ravers would have all the air knocked out of their lungs once kicked. At first it just sounded like any normal forced exhale, but upon closer examination I found that, when kicked in the stomach, Candy Ravers always emit a " PLUR" sound.
After a few rounds of this the Junglists throw PLUR Fairey in the center of the circle, then go stand outside of the circle and start smoking more of that herb stuff they seem to like so much. Looking into the circle, they debate over PLUR Fairey's "breaking" skills. I don't quite understand this seeing as PLUR Fairey is just unconscious inside of the bodily fluid-filled circle, and their language is very hard to interpret. After later examining their language I found that 3 out of 5 of the words in their conversation were one of the following: "Werd", "Bra", "Mad", "
Once done smoking they start advancing toward PLUR Fairey and yelling at him to get out of their circle. I now realize that they are planning on eating PLUR Fairey. I couldn't afford to lose my favorite subject, so I drop one of my suspended iron cages over PLUR Fairey to keep them away and release 18 starving Rhinocerous that I borrowed from the Zoo into the cell. I figured this would keep them occupied until I could find a way to properly finish my experiment. Two of them were wearing visors with Rhinos on them, anyway, so I figured they'd enjoy it.
I had no clue Rhinocerous were carnivores... nor that they toyed with their food prior to killing it. Oh well, at least they did a good job of eating all the scraps. Rhinos will eat anything! A few moments later, Killy Bimble comes back to the observation room and I explain the situation to him. So we open a window to the cell and practice our archery on the Rhinos until they're all dead. I hear we can sell their horns for a decent price.
Day 3:
PLUR Fairey awakens and starts complaining about the blood, urine, mucus, bile, and other body fluid all over his clothes calling it "Rave Funk". He then thanks me for a great party, so I throw him a mop and turn on the sprinkler system in the cell. I think he'll get the idea.
I need to learn how to write shorter papers.
That's all for now, folks...I'll probably be releasing the results of further experiments in the future. Feel free to send comments, concerns, Candy Ravers, or complaints to clayton.smith@gunter.af.mil.
